Week 3 Updates: Mindful Practices

(Dec 18th 2023)

Last week, we dipped our toes into the Root Chakra. That foundational energy is all about safety, security, and feeling grounded. This week, we’re planting our feet more firmly in that soil and really exploring what it means to build a stable base, as in how to keep yourself balanced in that area and what to feed your Root Chakra for growth. Innerstanding this for our personal projects and for our own sense of calm.

Another thing we are doing that is new, is starting the day with meditation alongside the twins. It’s less about the silence and more about sharing a moment of collective breath. It sets a tone of presence for all of us before the day’s learning begins.

And speaking of learning, we’re sprinkling in some new fun! We decided to introduce spelling games and other interactive techniques to help make ideas stick. True understanding comes from play and connection, not just memorization. It’s all part of crafting an education that feels alive and engaging. Especially for young people learning the world around them.

We are also shaking up the schedule a bit. We declared Thursdays a Nature Day. No formal “class” but letting nature be our classroom. This opens space for adventures, deep dives into personal projects, or simply resting.

To add more color to our weeks, we’re launching Music Mondays for exploring sounds and rhythms, and Rainbow Wednesdays to celebrate creativity in every color. These little themes make space for joy throughout the week.

Mostly, today I just feel good. I feel good about the path we are on, the learning we are doing, and the gentle, intentional life we are creating. I feel good about myself for listening to what works for us and having the courage to build it.
